Twitter Policy

The main @UoH_Careers and @UoH_Placements Twitter accounts are managed by the Careers and Placements Team at the University of Hertfordshire.

(Further Twitter accounts focussing on specific sectors can be found through this list)

If you follow us you can expect tweets covering the following:

  • Information and advice on careers and placements (both tweeted by us and retweeted from others)
  • Information about the service, including; events, appointments, how to book these, and our online resources
  • Alerts about new content on our other digital channels (Facebook, videos on our YouTube channel, our LinkedIn Group, and blogs on WordPress.com)
  • Occasional live coverage of on-campus events

Following

We do not automatically ‘follow back’ other Twitter users. Being followed back does not imply endorsement of any kind by the Careers and Placement Services team. We reserve the right to ‘unfollow’, and in some cases block, accounts we believe are malicious, spam or generally inappropriate.

Availability

We will update and monitor our Twitter account during office hours, Monday to Friday. At busy periods for the service, or on occasions when the appropriate team member is unavailable, the account may not show activity. Twitter may occasionally be unavailable and the Careers and Placements team accepts no responsibility for lack of service due to Twitter downtime, although in both cases we will attempt to inform our users via other methods.

@Replies and Direct Messages

  • We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers and will endeavour to join the conversation where possible.
  • We will attempt to read all mentions, replies, and direct messages where possible
  • We may not be able to reply individually to all the messages we receive via Twitter.
  • We will not respond to trolling or engage with users who are abusive or aggressive.
  • Twitter is a public forum; if your message is urgent and/or of a personal nature, please try contacting us via CareerHub, email, or telephone.
